Privacy Policy

We are committed to maintaining your personally identifiable information’s accuracy, confidentiality, and security (“Personal Information”). As part of this commitment, our privacy policy governs our actions as they relate to the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information.

1. Identifying Purposes

We collect and use Personal Information to provide you with the requested service and offer you additional products and services we believe you might be interested in.  In certain circumstances, the purposes for which information is collected may be clear, and consent may be implied, such as where your name and address are provided as part of the submission process.

2. Consent

Knowledge and consent are required for the collection, use, or disclosure of Personal Information except where required or permitted by law. Providing us with your Personal Information is always your choice. However, your decision not to provide certain information may limit our ability to provide you with our products or services. We will not require you to consent to the collection, use, or disclosure of information as a condition to the supply of a product or service, except as required to be able to supply the product or service.

3. Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention

Personal Information will only be used or disclosed for the purpose for which it was collected. Your information will never be shared with 3rd parties, unless GL Pools is compelled to do so via a court order or other official means.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

4. Accuracy

Personal Information will be maintained in as accurate, complete and up-to-date form as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is to be used.

5. Safeguarding Customer Information

Personal Information will be protected by security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity level of the information. We take all reasonable precautions to protect your Personal Information from any loss or unauthorized use, access or disclosure.

6. Openness

We will make information available to you about our policies and practices with respect to the management of your Personal Information.

7. Customer Access

Upon request, you will be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of your Personal Information, and will be given access to it. You may verify the accuracy and completeness of your Personal Information, and may request that it be amended, if appropriate. However, in certain circumstances permitted by law, we will not disclose certain information to you. For example, we may not disclose information relating to you if other individuals are referenced or if there are legal, security or commercial proprietary restrictions.

Technician Mobile App

This section only applies to GL Pools employees utilizing the company’s custom mobile application.

What the app collects

Account Information

Your name, email address, and a user identifier, so you can sign in and so work can be assigned to you and attributed to you.

Precise location.
Used to show your assigned work orders and route stops on a map, provide directions, and confirm on-site service visits. Location is used while you are working in the app; it is not used to build a profile of you and is
not shared with advertisers.

Photos
Photos you capture or select are attached to a work order to document pools, equipment, property conditions, and completed work. Some are included in the visit summary emailed to the customer.

Information You Enter
Water chemistry readings and dosages, task completion, notes, reported issues, and descriptions of work performed.

Device Identifiers
A device identifier is used to verify that requests come from a genuine, unmodified copy of the app, and to group diagnostic reports.

Diagnostics & Usage
Crash reports, performance data, and product interaction data, used to find and fix defects and to understand which parts of the app are used.

Customer and property information
Service addresses, customer names and contact details, equipment and property notes, service history, and photographsof the property. This is collected and processed on behalf of GL Pools to schedule and deliver service.

How this information is used

  • Operating the service: routing, dispatch, scheduling, and recording what was
     done on each visit.
  • Communicating with customers, including visit summaries with photographs of
     completed work.
  • Maintaining accurate service and property records.
  • Diagnosing crashes and errors, and improving reliability and performance.
  • Protecting the service against unauthorised or automated access.

What we do not do

The app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), contains no advertising SDKs, and does not sell personal information or share it with data brokers or advertising networks.

Service providers

We use a small number of established third-party providers to operate the app. They process data only on our instructions, for the purposes described above, and are contractually required to protect it to a standard equal to our own. None of them are permitted to use it for their own purposes, and none are advertising networks or data brokers.

They fall into these categories:

  • Cloud platform — user sign-in, the service database, and photo storage.
  • Crash and performance monitoring — diagnosing errors and reliability issues.
  • Search — an index of service locations so technicians can find a property
     quickly.
  • Mapping — rendering maps and route stops, and converting addresses to
     coordinates.

Opening directions hands off to whichever maps application you have chosen on your device; that application’s own privacy policy then applies.

We will identify any of these providers by name on request — contact us using the details below.

Permissions you control

Location, camera, and photo library access are requested when a feature first needs them, and each can be declined or later changed in iOS **Settings → Shepherd**. Declining a permission disables the feature that depends on it — for example, without location access the route map cannot show where you or your stops are — but the rest of the app continues to work.

The app does not request access to your contacts, microphone, or health data, and
does not ask permission to track you.

Retention

Service records, including photographs and visit history, are retained for as long as needed to deliver and document service and to meet GL Pool’s business and legal obligations. Diagnostic data is retained on a shorter, rolling basis by our monitoring providers.
